At first I was afraid. I was petrified.

To anyone who happened to be attending cabaret night at the Phoenix Theatre Bar on Charing Cross Road tonight, I would like to apologize for my performance of the Elaine Paige/Barbara Dickson classic "I Know Him So Well". I was a bit out of tune in several places, the song was a risky choice in that I suspected it was going to be rather out of my key and indeed it was, my friend Chris didn't really know the words to Barbara's part, and the organist's attempt at harmonization were a bit off-putting. All in all, it could have been so much better, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I do not, however, apologize for the rendition of "I Will Survive" that followed it, because frankly I was brilliant, especially the dancing in the middle eight. And anyway, I have a cast-iron excuse for that one – the drag queen made me do it....
