The thunder of stampeding rhinos, elephants and tacky tigers

If you aren't already in the habit of watching Last Man Standing and you have access to the joys of BBC iPlayer, I most heartily recommend that you watch this week's episode, in which the boys go to Indonesia and take part in Sumbawa water buffalo racing.

One man, two water buffalo and a big old field full of mud - what more do you want?

It's a completely mad but brilliant sport which involves surfing through a field of mud on an adapted wooden plough-thingy, hanging on for dear life as you are dragged by two enthusiastic and pompom-bedecked water buffalo, which weigh about a ton each. It's just as exciting as it sounds, and I am now thinking of putting it forward for the London 2012 Olympics. Hackney Marsh Buffalodrome, anyone?

In other news, random word of the day is ginglyform meaning "hinge-shaped". Use it in as many conversations as you dare...
