Today saw the return to the airwaves of my very favourite Radio 4 sitcom with Benedict Cumberbatch in it, better known as Cabin Pressure. The opening episode of series 4 was a treat to listen to, even more so because pontisbright and I were in the audience when it was recorded in early December and got to watch Benedict brushing his errant curl out of his face, Roger Allam being suaveness personified, Stephanie Cole swearing a lot and calling Benedict "sweetheart", and John Finnemore being John Finnemore. We squealed a lot.

If you missed it and want to listen in, BBC iPlayer should allow you to hear the show from anywhere in the world. And when you've listened in, you'll know the (slight) relevance of the quote that inspired me to produce the following gratuitous crossover between CP and the forthcoming motion picture Star Trek Into Darkness...

Martin Crieff is an unexpectedly evil genius
