Utterly Pointless News Round-Up of the Week

Bookshop Shock of the Week
Jodie Marsh has got an autobiography out. And it's called "Keeping It Real". I know I generally abide by the rules of EMPIRE, but all I can say is WTF??? For starters, does any marketing department seriously believe that any Jodie Marsh fans can read? And secondly, which bit of her is meant to be real?

Child Torture Method of the Week
Penn Jillette (of Penn and Teller) has named his newly born daughter Moxie CrimeFighter. Honestly, one expects this kind of thing from Gwyzza Paltrow and her ilk but some people should know better. If I were Teller, I'd consider not talking to him any more. (Can you see what I did there? Oh, never mind.)

Reason for Watching Top Gear of the Week
Because Christopher Eccleston is this week's guest celebrity, of course. Frankly I'm delighted to have any reason at all for watching it, because usually I watch it with no excuse at all. Other than trying to decide whether I ship Clarkson/Richard or Richard/James, that is. See, Richard and James have this sort of "old married couple" fluff vibe going on, while with Jeremy and Richard it's all about the snark. (Obviously the thought of any of them actually having sex with each other makes me want to eat my own intestines, but I can't help shipping them anyway. I blame the Internet.)

Reaction to Doctor Who of the Week
Hard to sum up in a couple of lines, but it would go something like this: "OMG! OMG! Ginormous Dalek fleet! Rabble-rousing speeches! Cheering in the stands! Rose standing there like a lemon! And the imminent departure of the Lovely Mr E! Oh my gorgeous leather-clad Timelord, we hardly knew ye! *spasmodic sobbing*"

Also, can't wait to see how long it takes Captain Jack to attempt to chat up a Dalek.
